What are STPs?
STPs (Supplemental Transportation Programs for seniors) are community-based transportation programs serving seniors that complement existing transportation services. For more information on STPs, click here.
What is the STP Exchange?
The STP Exchange is a response to the call for a national forum for information sharing and exchange. It is a web-based resource for peer-to-peer communication; technical, informational, and financial materials development and discussion; and networking among members and the community at large. Not only does it provide members with the ability to tap into web-based information, it also enables them to engage in one-on-one sharing of information and ideas.

Beverly Foundation: Located in Pasadena, California, the Beverly Foundation was organized in 1979 as a non-profit, operating foundation. While its early program focused on reinforcing and extending the health potential of frail elderly residing in institutions, today, the Foundation undertakes research, demonstration and assistance to encourage senior mobility and transportation within and beyond the immediate community. The mission of the Foundation is to foster new ideas and options to enhance mobility and transportation for today's and tomorrow's older adults.

AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety: The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety is dedicated to saving lives and reducing injuries on the roads. It is a not-for-profit, publicly-supported charitable educational and research organization. Since 1947, the Foundation has funded over 170 research projects designed to discover the causes of traffic crashes, prevent them, and minimize injuries when they do occur. We have used this research to develop dozens of focused, high-impact educational materials for drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists and other road users.

Independent Living Partnership: Established in 1989, the non-profit 501 (c)3 Independent Living Partnership is committed to helping people lead more satisfying and rewarding lives, often in spite of significant health and mobility challenges. Instead of creating dependency, the Partnership's life enriching programs educate, motivate, and assist people to strengthen or rebuild their social network, to access needed human and social services, and to continue to live successfully and independently in their communities. We operate the senior-friendly transportation program known as "TRIP", which has served as a model for the creation of many similar volunteer driver programs, and we continue to be a national leader in the development and facilitation of volunteer assisted transportation for the frail elderly, and people suffering chronic mobility challenges.
